Zoë Counts

Academic Advising Specialist

Biography

Zoë Counts is an Academic Advising Specialist in the Office of Student Success. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Zoë moved to Columbia to pursue a bachelor's degree in Middle Level Education with an emphasis in English and Social Studies at the University of South Carolina. Upon completing her degree, she taught in the Charleston County School District. While there, she earned her master's degree in Multicultural Contexts in Education.

Prior to joining the Office of Student Success, Zoë taught the AVID elective to middle school students. Through this position, she realized her desire to help students plan for and take action toward their futures! She looks forward to helping advisees discover the opportunities available to them at º£½ÇÊÓÆµ as well as uncover the possibilities for their futures. 

When not on campus, Zoë can be found teaching or taking group fitness classes, hiking or camping with her fiancé, and exploring Columbia with friends.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Columbia?

There are so many things to love about living in Columbia! A few of my favorites include checking out local parks and trails, going to sporting events, and bopping around downtown! If you haven't checked out Soda City Market on a Saturday morning, you're in for a treat!
