Dear º£½ÇÊÓƵ Community,
It is my privilege to recognize two exceptional faculty members whose dedication to our students and campus community continues to reflect the very best of º£½ÇÊÓƵ. Please join me in congratulating Mary Jon Barrineau, recipient of this year’s Faculty Excellence Award, and Marlee Marsh, recipient of the Student Choice Award.
Dr. Barrineau’s commitment to student success, mentorship, and academic excellence has made a lasting impact across our campus community. As Director of General Education, Program Chair of Human Development and Family Studies & Behavioral Science, and Associate Professor, she leads with both expertise and compassion. A proud º£½ÇÊÓƵ alumna, Dr. Barrineau exemplifies the values of service, leadership, and intentional education that define our institution. Her work mentoring students through undergraduate research opportunities and fostering meaningful academic engagement continues to shape the lives of countless students.
Dr. Marsh’s selection for the Student Choice Award speaks directly to the extraordinary relationships she builds with students every day. Since joining the º£½ÇÊÓƵ faculty in 2012, she has inspired students through innovative teaching, hands-on research mentorship, and a passion for active learning in the sciences. As Director of the Dr. John Zubizarreta Honors Program and Associate Professor of Biology, Dr. Marsh consistently challenges students to think critically, communicate effectively, and pursue discovery with confidence and curiosity.
Both these honors reflect what makes º£½ÇÊÓƵ special: faculty who invest deeply in their students both inside and outside the classroom.
On behalf of the entire º£½ÇÊÓƵ community, congratulations to Dr. Barrineau and Dr. Marsh on these well-deserved recognitions. Thank you for the difference you make in the lives of our students and in the future of this institution.
With gratitude,
John H. Dozier
President, º£½ÇÊÓƵ
